About Military Base Guide

A nationwide directory of the services, offices and businesses on and around U.S. military installations, built so service members, families, retirees and civilian employees can find what they need without guessing.

Our mission

Moving to a new installation means rebuilding your whole support network at once. Where is the pass and ID office, and what are its hours? Which clinic takes your referral? Who is the housing office, the school liaison, the vet, the barber, the credit union, the storage lot?

That information exists, but it is scattered across dozens of base pages, PDFs, spouse groups and outdated printouts. Military Base Guide pulls it into one searchable place, organized by installation and by category, and keeps it open to the public with no login required.

We cover on-base offices and services alongside the surrounding community businesses that actually serve the installation, because in practice most families use both.

What we hold ourselves to

What you will find here

Base offices and services

Pass and ID, housing, finance, MPF, medical and dental clinics, legal, chapel, child development, MWR and the rest of the on-installation offices families need in the first week.

Businesses near the gate

Banking, storage, auto repair, restaurants, barbers, realtors, movers and veterinary care in the communities that surround each installation, with distance from the gate shown on every listing.

Maps and base pages

Every listing is plotted, and every installation has its own page so you can browse everything tied to that base in one view instead of running the same search a dozen times.

How the directory is built

1. Gather

We start from public installation directories, official base pages and published contact records.

2. Verify and place

Addresses are geocoded and tied to the nearest installation so distance from the gate is real, not estimated.

3. Claim

Owners and office managers can claim a listing to correct hours, phone numbers and details directly.

4. Keep current

Reader corrections and periodic reviews catch closures, moves and phone changes as bases evolve.

Who this is for

Service members and families

PCSing in, arriving for a TDY, retiring in place or supporting a deployed spouse. Search by base, by category or by what is closest to you, with no account required.

Businesses serving the military community

If you serve families from a nearby installation, a listing puts you in front of people at the exact moment they are looking. Add your business free, then upgrade if you want featured placement.

Independence and affiliation

Military Base Guide is an independent publication. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Defense or any branch of the U.S. Armed Forces. Appearance of a listing does not constitute federal endorsement of any product, service or company.

Base information is provided for convenience and can change without notice. Always confirm hours, eligibility and access requirements with the office or installation directly before you travel. For official installation guidance, use the installation’s own website or your local chain of command.
